The 880 model is the very first of the 800-series for the brand. They now have expanded to the 900-series and beyond, but the 800-series stays best within the appropriate price range for typical homeowners.

The iRobot Roomba 880 model is a robotic vacuum that uses rubber extractors instead of brushes that gets up more debris with less trouble, has a larger dust bin than previous models, and it requires minimum maintenance on the owner’s part. It’s a well-rounded, capable, self-sufficient cleaning bot with a powerful suction and ability to get into many tight spaces.

Product Specs

The iRobot Roomba 880 is nearly four inches and nearly fourteen inches wide while weighing over eight pounds. It has a black finish with an easy to use interface and many different types of ways to control it. Then, you let the iRobot Roomba 880 go and watch it do its job. It also has accessories like Virtual Walls and the Lighthouse that’ll either allow it to travel around your home before returning to base or stay in a singular room.

There is very little interaction with the iRobot Roomba 880 needed for it to complete the job. You’ll have to periodically make sure the sensors are clean and ensure the dust bin is in the correct position and empty it regularly. The filter will need replacing a recommended six times a year. While all of this might sound high maintenance on paper, what your getting is a self-sufficient smart machine that just needs to be checked on every now and then.

Simply put in your settings and let the robot do the rest, though cleaning and keeping up with the robot’s condition is very important. If that wasn’t enough, it can also connect to smart devices like Alexa or Google Home so you can simply command it to start working.

As far as actual cleaning goes, this vacuum had no competitor. It was simply the best all around in vacuuming. In other areas, though, not so much. It fell short of being the best robotic vacuum on this list for a few reasons, but it still gets the job done in a way most of the others couldn’t hope to achieve.

This little robotic vacuum from Eufy is able to tackle floor transitions like they were nothing and also has great cleaning power. It’s even able to get under low objects like couches when other vacuums may turn away. Even though this one isn’t exactly cheap, it’s already looking like a great deal.

  • Ease of Use
  • Performance
  • Design
  • Warranty

The warranty on Eufy products is only good for thirty days, which is much less than that of competitors.

  • Can go over any transition and under low furniture
  • Very good suction

  • Lots of hair gets stuck in the brushes
  • The warranty leaves much to be desired

The iRobot Roomba 880 model gets five stars across the board. It’s able to make easy transitions between different flooring types, gets under and around most obstacles, has fantastic sensors to know exactly where it is and where it’s going, and cleans like a dream. Pet hair can sometimes get caught in the rubber extractors but not as often as other models which get hair stuck in brushes almost all the time.

The only real downside about the iRobot Roomba 880 is the price tag. For a robotic vacuum that does as good a job as the 880 model, the price really isn’t anything to worry about. If you’re looking for your first robotic vacuum, then this one is a great product to start out with. However, if you’re on the fence about a robotic vacuum cleaner and just want to try one, maybe starting with a cheaper model might be more your speed as long as you keep in mind that there are better ones out there. While caught up in your shopping for a robotic vacuum, don’t forget to keep the warranty in mind as well because they vary and can be a very important aspect of the purchase.
